About FindServiceHistory
How is this different from HPI or a vehicle history check?
HPI-style checks focus on finance markers, write-offs, mileage discrepancies and theft records. FindServiceHistory is different — we pull the official manufacturer service records from franchised dealer systems, so you can see whether the car was genuinely serviced at a main dealer. The two products answer different questions and dealers typically use both.
Where does the service history data come from?
Data comes directly from official UK manufacturer databases — the same systems that franchised dealerships use to log services. Nothing is scraped, estimated or aggregated from third parties. If a record doesn't exist in the manufacturer's system, it won't appear in the report.
Is this legal and GDPR-compliant?
Yes. The report contains factual service records associated with the vehicle — dates, mileage and dealer visits — not personal data about previous owners. Reports are delivered to the person who ran the check and are never listed publicly or indexed by search engines.
How accurate is the data?
The data is as accurate as the manufacturer's own system at the time we query it. If a franchised dealer logged a service, it will appear. If a service was carried out at an independent garage, it usually won't — those records live with the garage, not the manufacturer. We're upfront about this before you pay.
Can I check any UK vehicle?
Coverage spans most European-market cars from 2012 onwards. Full dealership records are available for BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Ford, Toyota, Volkswagen and many more major brands. Other brands return workshop remarks or limited data — and a few (Honda UK, for example) are coverage-light because the manufacturer doesn't share UK records through our data feed. You'll see the exact coverage tier for the entered VRM before you commit, and you only pay if records are returned.
