About Toyota digital service records

Toyota is one of the UK's largest manufacturers with a vast dealer network. The Yaris, Corolla, RAV4, and C-HR are hugely popular. Toyota maintains comprehensive digital service records.

How Toyota records service data

Toyota GB uses the Toyota Dealer Management System (T-DMS / TDMS) to log every franchised dealer service against the VIN. Records include the service date, mileage, the service type (Intermediate at 10,000-mile / annual; Full at 20,000-mile / 2-year), individual line items (engine oil and filter, brake fluid, coolant, pollen filter, spark plugs), the dealer code, and any free-text remarks on additional work. Toyota UK's record-keeping is among the most consistent in the volume-brand space — records are reliably digital from approximately 2002 onwards, with strong coverage from 2005. The MyToyota app surfaces recent services for newer cars but does not show the complete dealer ledger; recall work, hybrid battery health checks, and older service entries often only appear in the dealer-system view. Toyota's hybrid battery health-check (a separate £100 inspection) is one of the most valuable line items to verify on hybrid models because it extends the hybrid battery warranty.

Useful Toyota information

Toyota service intervals

Toyota recommends servicing every 12 months or 10,000 miles. Toyota uses a fixed schedule alternating between intermediate and full services. Hybrid models follow the same intervals.

Toyota models we cover

Full UK Toyota range is covered: Aygo / Aygo X, Yaris (Mk2/Mk3/Mk4) and Yaris Cross, Corolla (Mk11/Mk12) hatch / touring sports / saloon, C-HR (Mk1/Mk2), RAV4 (Mk4/Mk5 inc. PHEV), Highlander, Camry, Avensis, Auris (Mk1/Mk2), bZ4X, Hilux pickup, Proace / Proace City van, Land Cruiser, GR86, GR Yaris, GR Corolla, Supra Mk5, Prius (Mk2/Mk3/Mk4 inc. PHEV), Mirai, plus the older Avensis Verso, Verso S, Auris Touring Sports and Picnic where on-system. Coverage is strongest from 2002 onwards. Pre-2000 Toyotas (older Corolla generations, Carina E, Celica) may have partial or paper-only records depending on supplying dealer.

Things to watch when buying a used Toyota

Three Toyota-specific things to know: First, the hybrid battery health check is a separate dealer line item, distinct from the standard service — without it, the hybrid battery warranty (Toyota's Hybrid Battery Extended Care, up to 15 years / 165,000 miles) is invalidated. Verify the annual hybrid health check is in the record for any Prius, Auris HSD, Yaris Hybrid, Corolla Hybrid, C-HR Hybrid, RAV4 Hybrid, or Camry Hybrid. Second, the older 2.0 D-4D diesel (in Avensis, Auris, Verso 2007-2014) had EGR cooler issues — verifiable dealer service history significantly reduces the risk. Third, Toyota service intervals are strict — Toyota Care, the manufacturer's relationship-warranty programme, requires Toyota dealer service at the right mileage / time intervals. A car serviced at independents will fall out of Toyota Care eligibility.

Why check Toyota service history before buying

Toyota resale value is closely tied to documented Toyota dealer service history — particularly because Toyota Care extends warranty cover up to 10 years (provided servicing is done at Toyota dealers on schedule). For hybrid models the annual hybrid battery health-check entry extends the hybrid battery warranty to 15 years / 165,000 miles. Cars with stamped-up FSH typically sell for 8-12% more than partial-history equivalents on the same model. For the GR Yaris and Supra performance models verify oil services were on schedule given the higher engine stress. Avensis and Auris diesel buyers should verify DPF and EGR cleaning entries appear in records.

FAQ

Toyota service history FAQs

How do I check Toyota service history?

Enter the UK registration of the Toyota into the form above. We query the official Toyota dealer system and return every electronically logged service entry — date, mileage, work performed and dealership. £9.99 — your card is authorised but not charged unless we find records.

Coverage level for Toyota

Toyota is in our Full Service History tier. Complete service records from manufacturer dealership systems, including service dates, mileage, work performed, and service provider details. Suitable for consumer reports and remarketing.

Does Toyota have digital service records?

Toyota GB uses the Toyota Dealer Management System (T-DMS / TDMS) to log every franchised dealer service against the VIN.

What does a Toyota service history report show?

For Toyota we return full service history from the official dealer system: service date, mileage recorded at the visit, the work performed, and the dealership that carried it out. We also bundle the full DVSA MOT history into the same report at no extra cost.

Will independent garage services appear on my Toyota report?

No. Independent garage services do not appear in Toyota's manufacturer dealer system. Our report covers Toyota franchised dealer records only. If a previous owner used an independent specialist, those visits will be missing here — that's the same gap a Toyota dealer would see if you asked them directly.

Can I check Toyota service history without owning the vehicle?

Yes. You only need the UK registration of the Toyota you're checking. There's no ownership verification step — that's why used-car buyers use the service before paying for a vehicle, to confirm the seller's history claims against the official Toyota dealer record.

Why is Toyota service history important?

Toyota resale value is closely tied to documented Toyota dealer service history — particularly because Toyota Care extends warranty cover up to 10 years (provided servicing is done at Toyota dealers on schedule).

Can I check Toyota service history for free?

Toyota's own dealer network can sometimes print service history for you if you visit a branch in person with ownership documents — that's the free route, but it requires a dealer trip and you usually need to be the current owner. There is no public Toyota portal that returns the full dealer service record. Our £9.99 lookup runs the same dealer-system query instantly with just the UK registration. Card is authorised but not charged unless records are found.

Does Toyota keep digital service records?

Yes. Toyota maintains comprehensive digital service records through the Toyota Dealer Management System. Every franchised dealer visit is logged with date, mileage, service type, line items, and recall work.

Can I check Toyota service history by registration?

Yes. Enter your Toyota registration number to retrieve the full official service history from the manufacturer database, including hybrid battery health checks, recall work and warranty repairs.

What Toyota models are covered?

All Toyota models are covered, including Aygo, Yaris, Corolla, C-HR, RAV4, Highlander, bZ4X, Hilux, Proace, Land Cruiser, GR86, GR Yaris, GR Corolla, Supra, Prius, Camry and all hybrid variants.

Why is the hybrid battery health check important?

Toyota's Hybrid Battery Extended Care extends the hybrid battery warranty to up to 15 years or 165,000 miles — but only if the annual hybrid health check is carried out at a Toyota dealer. The record entry is the proof. Without it, hybrid battery cover may be invalidated.

Does Toyota Care require dealer service?

Yes. Toyota Care, the manufacturer's relationship-warranty programme, requires servicing at Toyota franchised dealers within the schedule's time and mileage intervals. Servicing at independents removes the car from Toyota Care eligibility. The dealer record is the proof of eligibility.

Does the MyToyota app show all dealer records?

No. The MyToyota app shows a customer-facing summary of recent services. Recall work, hybrid battery health checks, and older entries often don't appear in the app even when they're in the dealer system. A dealer-system lookup retrieves the full record.

Are recall and software updates logged?

Yes. Toyota dealer records include manufacturer recall work, software updates, and warranty repairs alongside routine services. Each appears with date, mileage and dealer code.

How does service history affect Toyota resale?

Toyota resale is sensitive to documented Full Service History, particularly because of the Toyota Care warranty extension. Cars with stamped-up FSH at Toyota dealers typically sell for 8-12% more than partial-history equivalents. For hybrids, the annual battery health-check entry is especially valuable.
