What is a full vehicle check?

It is our service history check and our car check in one report. You see the manufacturer's dealer service records and the car check's finance, stolen, write-off and salvage records (data provided by Experian) together, for £17.99.

How much do I save?

Bought separately the two checks are £22.98: £9.99 for the service history and £12.99 for the car check. Together they are £17.99, £4.99 less.

What if no service records are found?

You are not charged for the service history, as with every check. The car check is still delivered, so you pay for that part only.

Does it come with a guarantee?

Yes. Every car check comes with Experian's Data Guarantee. If the finance, stolen or write-off data in it turns out to be wrong, Experian can pay up to £10,000, or the car's market value if lower, for 12 months from the date of the check. The check must be run before you buy, Experian's conditions apply (for example, the VIN and the seller's details must match the V5C logbook, and no more than £5,000 may be paid in cash), and claims are made to Experian directly. The guarantee covers the car check, not the service history.

Can I check by VIN instead of registration?

Yes, on the home page. The car check needs a UK registration, so it is offered on a VIN check when the VIN belongs to a UK-registered car.

Is the MOT history included?

Yes. Every check includes the full MOT history from DVSA, with advisories, failures and the mileage at each test, along with the manufacturer's service schedule and known problems and recalls for the model where we hold them.
