Usually because the servicing was done at independent garages, which don't write to Porsche's system, or because it was done before the dealer network kept digital records. A book full of independent stamps can be perfectly genuine; it just has to be backed by the paperwork rather than by the dealer system. If we find nothing, your card isn't charged.

No. The UK registration is all we need: no log-in, no ownership documents and no contact with the seller. That's why people use it before they buy, to compare what the seller says with what Porsche's dealers recorded.

Put the dates and readings side by side and look at the spacing. Porsche's current combustion models (718, 911, Macan, Cayenne, Panamera) run to 2 years or 20,000 miles; on the Macan, Cayenne and Panamera that is the outer limit of a condition-based oil reminder rather than a fixed interval. Intervals differ by engine and model year, so the handbook has the exact figure for a given car. A gap much longer than the schedule is worth asking the seller about: it may have been an independent service with an invoice in the folder, or it may have been missed. The MOT readings in the same report fill in the mileage between visits.

Sometimes, if you are the keeper. A Porsche dealer will often print the history at the service desk if you bring the car's documents, and some Porsche owner apps show recent visits for the car linked to your account. Neither helps a buyer looking at someone else's car, and we know of no public Porsche website that shows the whole record. The intermediate shaft bearing (IMS) failure affected 996 and 997.1 911s (1998-2008) and Boxster / Cayman 986 / 987.1. Dealer records showing frequent oil services are the best mitigation. Many cars have aftermarket IMS upgrades — these should also appear in the service record where dealer-fitted.

PDK dual-clutch transmissions need an oil change at a model-specific interval: 40,000 miles or 6 years on the Macan, 60,000 miles or 6 years on the Panamera, and 120,000 miles or 12 years on the 911 and 718. This is frequently skipped at independents and is a leading cause of expensive PDK failure on second-hand examples. Dealer records will show the entry as a specific line item.

No. The MyPorsche app shows recent services for newer cars. Pre-app entries (typically pre-2017 for many models), recall work, and warranty repairs only appear in the dealer-system lookup.

Porsche resale is highly sensitive to Porsche Centre FSH. The gap between full Porsche Centre history and partial / independent history can run to 20%+ on trade-in for collectible models. Dealer-stamped history is essentially mandatory at the top of the used Porsche market.
