Questions about dealer pricing
What happens when I run a check and no history is found?
You are not charged or debited. On pay-as-you-go, your card is authorised at checkout but the authorisation is cancelled — zero Stripe fees, no refund admin. On a monthly plan, the check is credited back to your allowance so it can be used on a different vehicle.
How does a monthly plan compare to pay-as-you-go?
Pay-as-you-go is £4.99 per check with no commitment. A monthly plan locks in a cheaper per-check rate (as low as £2.81 on Enterprise). Rough guide: Pro pays for itself from around 25 checks a month, Business from around 60, Enterprise from around 125. Unused checks don't roll over, so if your volume is unpredictable, stay on PAYG.
What if I run out of monthly plan checks mid-cycle?
You are not blocked. Extra checks automatically fall through to pay-as-you-go at £4.99 each. Your dashboard shows your plan balance separately so you always know when you have gone over.
Can I cancel or change my plan?
Yes. Cancel any time from your dashboard — you keep your remaining allowance until the end of the paid cycle. Upgrading mid-cycle takes effect immediately and Stripe prorates the bill. Downgrading takes effect at the next renewal.
Do unused monthly checks roll over?
No — monthly allowance is use-it-or-lose-it at the end of each cycle. If your volume is lumpy, pay-as-you-go at £4.99 may suit you better than a plan.
Can I run more than 220 checks a month?
Yes — for high-volume dealers we offer custom enterprise pricing. Email hello@findservicehistory.com with your monthly volume and we'll quote you a per-check rate.
How do I get my 3 free checks?
Create a free trade account, verify your dealer details, and 3 free checks are credited automatically. Free checks are only consumed when records are actually returned — if we find nothing, the free check stays on your account.
