How Audi records service data
Audi's service records run on the Volkswagen Group dealer management system (ELSA / DISS / Audi Workshop System), shared with VW, Skoda, SEAT and Cupra at the data layer. Every franchised UK Audi dealer visit is logged against the VIN with the service date, mileage, the schedule (Fixed or Longlife), specific line items, the dealer code, and any additional work. UK Audi records are reliably digital from roughly 2003 onwards. The myAudi app shows a customer-facing summary of recent services for newer cars but doesn't display the full historical ledger — older entries, recall work and warranty repairs may not surface in the app even when they're held in the dealer system. Audi's central system retains records even when a dealership closes or changes ownership, so service history persists across dealer transitions.

Full UK Audi range is covered: A1 (8X/GB), A3 (8L/8P/8V/8Y) hatch / saloon / cabriolet, A4 (B6/B7/B8/B9) saloon and Avant estate, A5 coupe / sportback / cabriolet, A6 (C5/C6/C7/C8) saloon / Avant / allroad, A7 sportback, A8 (D3/D4/D5), Q2, Q3 (8U/F3), Q4 e-tron, Q5 (8R/FY), Q7 (4L/4M), Q8 / SQ8 / RS Q8, TT, R8, plus the full RS / S performance line (RS3, RS4, RS6, RS7, S3, S4, S5) and the e-tron / e-tron GT / Q4 e-tron / Q6 e-tron / Q8 e-tron electric range. Audi-specific things to know
Three Audi-specific things to know: First, the Longlife vs Fixed service schedule choice matters a lot — Longlife uses an oil-quality sensor and can stretch services to 18,000-19,000 miles, while Fixed is a hard 9,000-10,000 mile cap. Verify which schedule was used; a Longlife car with three services in 60,000 miles is on-schedule, the same record on a Fixed car is well overdue. Second, quattro models have a Haldex AWD system that needs an oil change every 38,000 miles (or roughly 3 years) — this is the single most-skipped Audi service item at independents and the dealer record is the easiest place to verify it. Third, the 2.0 TFSI petrol (2004-2012, in A4, A5, A6, Q5) had a chain-tensioner / timing-chain issue on early examples — verifiable history of strict oil-service intervals significantly reduces the risk of chain failure.
Why check Audi service history before buying
Audi resale value is closely tied to documented Audi dealer history — particularly for the A3, A4, and Q5 which dominate the used premium market. A documented FSH on an A4 or A6 typically commands a 10-15% trade-in premium over partial-history equivalents. For diesels (2.0 TDI, 3.0 TDI) verify DPF and AdBlue (post-2016 Euro 6) entries appear in records. S-tronic / DSG automatic transmissions need a fluid change at roughly 40,000 miles — missing this is one of the most common causes of expensive gearbox failure on second-hand examples. quattro buyers should confirm Haldex AWD oil-service entries appear at the right intervals.
