Notes from the handbooks
  • 225/60R17: Printed bar (psi, kPa) '2.3 (33, 230)' for all positions and both loads.
  • 225/55R18: Printed bar (psi, kPa) '2.3 (33, 230)' for all positions and both loads.
What the handbooks don't say
  • The handbook prints no load index or speed symbol, and no 16-inch size; any 16-inch fitment on early base models is not recorded.

Figures marked "Maker's handbook" link to the maker's own document. "Reported" figures are the maker's, read from a copy we could not get from the maker directly. A figure marked ≈ has been converted from the unit the handbook prints. Nothing here has been checked against your car: if it disagrees with the label on the car, the label wins.

Tyre pressure questions

What tyre pressure should a Hyundai ix35 have?

It depends on the tyre size and, on some versions, the engine. For the sizes Hyundai lists, the normal-load pressure is 33 psi (2.3 bar) at the front and 33 psi (2.3 bar) at the rear. Find your size in the tables above, and check the tyres cold.

What size tyres does a Hyundai ix35 take?

Hyundai fitted the ix35 with 225/60 R17 and 225/55 R18, depending on the generation and trim. The size is printed on the side of your tyre; the pressures above are listed by size.

Where is the tyre pressure label on a Hyundai ix35?

On most cars it is on the driver's door pillar or inside the fuel filler flap. It normally gives the same figures as the handbook, which is where the ones on this page come from — if the two ever disagree, go by the label on your car.

When should I use the fully laden pressures?

When the car is carrying a full load — every seat taken, a full boot or a trailer. For everyday driving use the normal figures.
