Ford tyre pressures
Ford S-Max tyre pressure
The tyre pressures Ford prints in its handbook for each S-Max tyre size, by generation — S-Max Mk2 (2015–2023) and S-Max Mk1 (2006–2015). Find your tyre size on the sidewall, then read across.

What the handbooks don't say
- One table covers both the S-MAX and the Galaxy (shared handbook). Row years follow the build dates printed in each edition: the 2015 edition (all engines in one row per size) and the edition for vehicles built from 11-06-2018 (sizes with load/speed index).
- The 2018-on pages print no temporary spare table.

What the handbooks don't say
- One table covers both the S-MAX and the Galaxy (shared handbook). Only the 2013-14 edition was read; 2006-2012 editions were not found online.
- No temporary spare wheel pressure is printed on the page read.
Figures marked "Maker's handbook" link to the maker's own document. "Reported" figures are the maker's, read from a copy we could not get from the maker directly. A figure marked ≈ has been converted from the unit the handbook prints. Nothing here has been checked against your car: if it disagrees with the label on the car, the label wins.

Tyre pressure questions
What tyre pressure should a Ford S-Max have?
It depends on the tyre size and, on some versions, the engine. For the sizes Ford lists, the normal-load pressure is 32–38 psi (2.2–2.6 bar) at the front and 32–35 psi (2.2–2.4 bar) at the rear. Find your size in the tables above, and check the tyres cold.
What size tyres does a Ford S-Max take?
Ford fitted the S-Max with 215/60 R16, 225/50 R17, 235/55 R17, 235/45 R18, 235/50 R18 and 245/45 R19, depending on the generation and trim. The size is printed on the side of your tyre; the pressures above are listed by size.
Where is the tyre pressure label on a Ford S-Max?
On most cars it is on the driver's door pillar or inside the fuel filler flap. It normally gives the same figures as the handbook, which is where the ones on this page come from — if the two ever disagree, go by the label on your car.
When should I use the fully laden pressures?
When the car is carrying a full load — every seat taken, a full boot or a trailer. For everyday driving use the normal figures.
