What the handbooks don't say
  • Volvo's tables print sizes without load index or speed rating.
  • Temporary spare pressure printed; spare size not printed in the pressure table.
  • 2016–2017 editions not read (earliest read: 2018).

Figures marked "Maker's handbook" link to the maker's own document. "Reported" figures are the maker's, read from a copy we could not get from the maker directly. A figure marked ≈ has been converted from the unit the handbook prints. Nothing here has been checked against your car: if it disagrees with the label on the car, the label wins.

Tyre pressure questions

What tyre pressure should a Volvo V90 have?

It depends on the tyre size and, on some versions, the engine. For the sizes Volvo lists, the normal-load pressure is ≈33–36 psi (2.3–2.5 bar) at the front and ≈33–36 psi (2.3–2.5 bar) at the rear. Find your size in the tables above, and check the tyres cold.

What size tyres does a Volvo V90 take?

Volvo fitted the V90 with 225/55 R17, 235/55 R18, 245/45 R18, 235/50 R19, 255/40 R19, 245/40 R20, 245/45 R20 and 255/35 R20, among others, depending on the generation and trim. The size is printed on the side of your tyre; the pressures above are listed by size.

Where is the tyre pressure label on a Volvo V90?

On most cars it is on the driver's door pillar or inside the fuel filler flap. It normally gives the same figures as the handbook, which is where the ones on this page come from — if the two ever disagree, go by the label on your car.

When should I use the fully laden pressures?

When the car is carrying a full load — every seat taken, a full boot or a trailer. For everyday driving use the normal figures.
