Notes from the handbooks
  • 235/65 R17 V: 'Tyre pressures. All loading conditions.' Printed as bar (psi) only. Undated edition: its engine list (2.2 diesel 150/190 PS, 2.0 petrol 240 PS) is the post-2012 facelift line-up, so row years are 2012-2014 - the years that line-up was built - an inference, not a printed date.

What the handbooks don't say
  • 2006-2012 (3.2 i6 / TD4 / eD4) handbooks were not found on a JLR host, so earlier sizes (e.g. 16-inch) and pressures are not recorded.
  • Sizes are printed with speed rating only (no load index).

Figures marked "Maker's handbook" link to the maker's own document. "Reported" figures are the maker's, read from a copy we could not get from the maker directly. A figure marked ≈ has been converted from the unit the handbook prints. Nothing here has been checked against your car: if it disagrees with the label on the car, the label wins.

Tyre pressure questions

What tyre pressure should a Land Rover Freelander have?

It depends on the tyre size and, on some versions, the engine. For the sizes Land Rover lists, the normal-load pressure is 32–35 psi (2.2–2.4 bar) at the front and 32–35 psi (2.2–2.4 bar) at the rear. Find your size in the tables above, and check the tyres cold.

What size tyres does a Land Rover Freelander take?

Land Rover fitted the Freelander with 235/65 R17, 235/60 R18 and 235/55 R19, depending on the generation and trim. The size is printed on the side of your tyre; the pressures above are listed by size.

Where is the tyre pressure label on a Land Rover Freelander?

On most cars it is on the driver's door pillar or inside the fuel filler flap. It normally gives the same figures as the handbook, which is where the ones on this page come from — if the two ever disagree, go by the label on your car.
