What the handbooks don't say
  • The 2017-2020 figures come from an English 'User Guide' listed by eLum under EN_EU (Sport / Longitude / Limited / Trailhawk / Night Eagle trims); it prints one pressure in psi (bar) with no full-load figure. UK-specific confirmation not found.
  • Petrol table in the ed. 08/2023 handbook lists 235/50 R18 and 235/45 R19 with a full-load rear of 2.2 (lower than the 2.4 for smaller sizes) - recorded as printed.

Figures marked "Maker's handbook" link to the maker's own document. "Reported" figures are the maker's, read from a copy we could not get from the maker directly. A figure marked ≈ has been converted from the unit the handbook prints. Nothing here has been checked against your car: if it disagrees with the label on the car, the label wins.

Tyre pressure questions

What tyre pressure should a Jeep Compass have?

It depends on the tyre size and, on some versions, the engine. For the sizes Jeep lists, the normal-load pressure is ≈35 psi (2.4 bar) at the front and ≈32–35 psi (2.2–2.4 bar) at the rear. Find your size in the tables above, and check the tyres cold.

What size tyres does a Jeep Compass take?

Jeep fitted the Compass with 215/65 R16, 215/60 R17, 225/60 R17, 235/60 R17, 225/55 R18, 235/50 R18, 235/55 R18 and 235/45 R19, depending on the generation and trim. The size is printed on the side of your tyre; the pressures above are listed by size.

Where is the tyre pressure label on a Jeep Compass?

On most cars it is on the driver's door pillar or inside the fuel filler flap. It normally gives the same figures as the handbook, which is where the ones on this page come from — if the two ever disagree, go by the label on your car.

When should I use the fully laden pressures?

When the car is carrying a full load — every seat taken, a full boot or a trailer. For everyday driving use the normal figures.
