What a digital service book actually looks like

This is the real page, not a picture of one. It belongs to a made-up 2015 Ford Focus with five services from two independent garages — the kind of history no manufacturer database holds. Press Download PDF and you will get exactly the document you would hand a buyer.

This is an example, not a real vehicle

The registration is a placeholder that DVLA never issues, and the garages are invented. Everything else works exactly as it would on your own book — including the PDF.

Thinking of buying this car?

This book holds the seller’s own paperwork. It does not hold the servicing that main dealers file with the manufacturer — those come from a different source, and they are the records a seller cannot write themselves.

What you are looking at

Every record above came from a photograph of a garage invoice or a stamped service-book page. We read the date, the mileage, the garage and the work from each one, and the owner confirmed it before it joined the book.

The mileage line is the part that matters. Each claimed reading has been checked against this vehicle’s DVSA MOT odometer trail — public readings taken by a tester, which an owner cannot edit. That check constrains the mileage figure only: the date, the garage and the work described are unchecked, and the page never claims otherwise.

One record was typed by hand — the 2019 service, where the invoice had been lost. It carries no document and says so. The distinction is deliberate: a book that presented both kinds identically would be worth less to the person reading it.

The documents themselves stay private. A garage invoice usually carries the owner’s name and home address, so a buyer sees the record and a note that a document is on file — never the invoice.

A book holds the paperwork you have. It does not hold the servicing main dealers file with the manufacturer — those come from a different source, and they are the records a seller cannot write themselves. A sample service history report shows what those look like, and a service history check (£9.99) puts both on one report.
